LOCAL JURISDICTIONS REINSTATE TEMPORARY BAN ON OPEN BURNING IN MACON COUNTY DUE TO EXTREME
FIRE RISK. This ban is effective immediately and will remain in place until further notice.
Due to prolonged dry conditions and a significantly elevated risk of wildfires and field fires, County Fire
Protection Districts have announced the continuance of a temporary suspension on all open burning
activities in Macon County Fire Protection District jurisdictions. For questions, please contact your local
fire department.

OPEN BURNING IS PROHIBITED FOR THE FOLLOWING:
• Residential and agricultural burning
• Burning of yard waste, brush, leaves, and other natural or combustible materials
•This suspension will remain in effect until weather conditions improve and fire danger is significantly reduced.
